There were many birds soaring over the mountains and through the Shenandoah Valley, borne aloft by thermals. Looks like fun!

(This was taken in the evening, around 6 PM)

Thank you very much, Patricia! There are many, many large birds up there; we see them all the time. Luckily there was enough light for a really fast shutter speed, so I caught the two in mid-flap. And also luckily there wasn't much flapping going on because of those wonderful thermals the birds loved to coast on. Glad you like! :heart:

Thank you, Lori. We were watching birds for hours on our back balcony where we were staying. That was a perfect observation post to catch them in mid air. Luckily there was plenty of light, so the fast shutter speed gave me a nice sharp image.
