Mom Plus 2

Here are the mama bird and her two chicks. I finally got a photo of all three at once, but forgot to post it. This was taken on 5/7/07. Since then, the chicks have fledged and moved on to start their own lives. The mom and dad have started another family (no surprise), and are sitting on the eggs right now.

I don't know when the eggs were laid, but it was sometime during the past 2 or 3 days. Our two cats keep looking through the window at the birds, who, in turn, look back at the cats; they seem to know they are safe, thanks to the window panes. They don't fly away, even when the cats' noses are only a few inches away from them.
