Thank you very much! I'm pleased and honored you chose one of my fish works to use as a journal feature. I happen to LOVE fishies as artforms.

Thank you so much! I did work harder on composition with this one...it was tempting to add a lot more stuff to the scene, but I stopped myself! Glad you like it! :w00t:

You're dead right about that. Now if only I had more self-discipline! I have a post-it note that says, "composition". I keep it handy to remind me!

Queen trigger fishes are really beautiful, great colours, well balaced, I know you have great ideas.
You can do better than me.

Thanks, Satish, but I think your work is FAR superior to mine. Yours looks professional, sleek, and imaginative! Mine doesn't look that professional or sleek; there may be a little "imagination" in there, though!

Thank you, Anita. Like all vectors, this was a bit slow and difficult to make, but I was very happy with the results.

Thank you very much for the nice comment and :+fav:! I'm starting to get the knack of what to do and how to do it in Illustrator. Now all I have to do is become good at drawing, hahaha! Seriously, though, Illustrator is fun, even though difficult. It's worth learning!

Thank you, Lori. Yes I do! I used to have an aquarium when I was in my 30s. It required almost daily maintenance; it needed (among other things) bottom cleaning snails (which multiplied like crazy), a proper balance of fish (some ate their young or ate each other when the tank got crowded) and plants (places to hide and sleep). And it was only a 10-gal tank. The filters, charcoal and other supplies cost a lot of money, too. So in the end, I had to wind it down and discontinue the hobby. :(

I had about 5 aquariums about 3 years ago. I had 2 oscars and a plecto (among other fish that gradually died) in one 30 gallon tank and the plecto got so big I had to take him back to the petshop! Even the oscars got huge...big enough for dinner  The other tanks had smaller fish but either they died to fast or the water just wouldn't stay clean. It just got to be too much. And when we first started with this "fish phase", I thought all fish got along, boy was I wrong! Nothing in this world gets along with their own kind...it's discouraging. Once all the fish died, we cleaned out the tanks and sold them all at a garage sale. We didn't make the money back we invested, but we made more than we thought we would. Even had one tank left in the house and one person came when pretty much all the stuff was gone and we offered him the one left in the house with the few remaining fish, they took it. I was so happy to be rid of that.

Now I'd like a parakeet  Or a hamster. But my hubby says NO MORE PETS!

I think a couple of cats are enough, myself. Nobody realizes how tough it is to raise fish; I never thought they would turn out to be cannibals, either. They certainly got enough food from me! I had a Cichlid (sp.??) and that guy turned out to be a real killer! THey eat everything in the tank. :(

Yea, I thought it would be easy too...set up the tank put the fish in, feed them once a day and clean them out once every 6 weeks or so. Too much mess!

In my highschool, the art teachers were prohibited from basing grades on their own personal tastes. They had to follow a criteria chart & it took them 3 times as long to grade.

That sounds like a better deal than what we had when I was in HS. The art teacher didn't like me very much, so he let it color his grading.

Did I mention the heavuily biased art teacher with a tude I hade in Art Institute. That bastard pissed off so many of his students, that by the time first simester was over, half the class dropped & only 3 passed.
