The flowers are so showy, I almost missed the fly (lower right), who seems to be taking in the whole scene from a leaf.

Thank you very much, Deb! I think your journal and news pages look fabulous...they are works of art in themselves. I'm always so flattered to be among the artists you select, because your choices are so good. It's a privilege to be featured alongside some truly great talent here at DA.

I thought by the title you were talking about the little white flower. Yes, the fly is enjoying the view. I love how you framed this!!

Nice work on this, I like how you placed the flowers outside the frame and the fly just really added a touch touch :)

thank you! I had some fun with this one, but it did take up time. One has to like tedious work with Photoshop!

Thank you, Rock. There's not that much to it, but it does take patience and attention to small details. That's why I don't do them too often.

Thank you so much! That little fly kind of sneaked into the picture, it seems. I didn't really notice him until I started doing closeup work on the image!

Flies are everywhere...oh, well, what can you do!? :D I don't mind flies as long as they stay off my face and my food!

They're awful pests and I don't like 'em either, but even so, they are so pretty in the sunlight. They have an irridescent blue-green coloring that is jewel-like.

thank you, Nance. I just kind of noticed that fly when I was fiddling around with the special effects, frame, etc. I thought he looked like the perfect audience for a flower show.

Thank you, Deb. It's not that hard to do, but does take time and patience to get the small details looking right. I like to do these once in awhile, but my hubby doesn't like 'em. He says they lack "pop." Someone's going to get popped if they aren't careful!

 If ever you would like to do this to one of my images, just let me know...I promise I will not complain. It takes a little more patience than I can spend right now. I remember I asked you once and you noted me on how. I got very frustrated...so I stopped. hehehehehe...I think I am much better with fractals. See already, you can do something I am not able to do. You should be very proud. Maybe I will give it another try...you just never know about me.

I will do that, Deb! This kind of Photoshop work is just more tedious than anything else. You have to 'select' the outline of what you want, cut/paste it into a frame and background, put in drop shadows, then clean the whole thing up...that's the hardest part because there's lots of hand-work involved (e.g., painting over goofs, smoothing selection outlines, making sure the shadows are consistent, etc.) It's great to do someting like this on a rainy day when nothing else is going on and no one is bothering you!

Thank you, Peggy! I like to do these "jumping out the the frame" images once in awhile. This one wasn't too hard, because the lilies had a distinct and simple outline. If the arrangement is too fine-lined and complex, this technique doesn't work as well. I'm glad you like it!
