Evolving year update

Sat Dec 5, 2009, 10:35 AM
2009 has been a stinker for our family, and I'll be glad to see it pass. Our furnace broke down and had to be replaced ($$$). My hubby has had two major surgeries and a root canal; we've both had the flu. My aunt was sick with cancer and recently died, so all the older folks in our family are now dead and gone. We are orphans. I still have arthritis in both thumbs and must limit keyboard activities, probably forever. Luckily, I don't get pain when operating the mouse (thank goodness for this, cuz I like video games); it's just the typing that's painful. The neck is finally better, though!

I'm still going to have to limit the correspondence here, probably until the end of time. Taking Aleves helps the pain, but it upsets my stomach. It's not good stuff to take for too long.

Anyway, I hope everyone is well and doing better than I am. Sorry I haven't been around much, but I've been pretty depressed and very uninspired, art-wise. Hope this will change soon. I've got a few things I'm working on, but....I dunno.
So please forgive me if I don't respond to notes or correspondence right away, or if my answers are short. For the sake of my poor thumb joints, I've got to be very careful not to overuse the hands. I guess at my age, this is all a part of life. I'll do what I can and be happy for that!

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and will have a great Christmas and New Years! Peace and blessings to all....:)

Lori's artwork of my kitties from times past

Fri Aug 28, 2009, 6:32 AM
I am deeply honored that Lori chose to honor my cat "babies" with one of her beautiful photo manips. I'm thrilled to pieces! These are cats I had from the early 1970s to 2004; they all have a place in my heart and I've never forgotten them. Hope everyone enjoys this lovely picture as much as I do!

Thanks, Lori!

Nowhere Land

Tue May 26, 2009, 4:13 PM
Seems like an eternity since I went out on a photo shoot, and I'm not happy about it. To some degree it's my fault for not overcoming inertia and just doing it. And partly it's because of a long series of health- related and other events in my family that have kept me busy, worried, and dispirited; there's the non-stop rain (who wants to deal with that?); and now we are having some much needed repairs done on our bathroom; the noise, dirt, and dust are driving me nuts. Hopefully, it will be a decent place to take a bath when it's finished. And then, maybe, I'll go out and take some pictures!

That's why I'm not posting too much these days.

Dedicated to me!!
By :iconsolgas:
What a beautiful dedication by a talented artist; I am certainly honored. Please visit ~solgas's gallery to see other examples of her wonderful artwork. Among other things, she does amazing watercolors!

Magic, beauty, and artistic talent are all rolled into one amazing artist, ~satishverma. His gallery is full of wonderful digital art work; I believe you'll find it well worth the time to pay him a visit. :wow:

What breathtakingly beautiful landscapes and scenery you'll see in ~mactinz's gallery. He uses ArtRage, Photoshop, and other digital painting methods; it's hard to believe they are not oils and watercolors. This man has solid talent.

I really enjoyed my tour of *karincharlotte's gallery. She has a stunning array of tradition abstract art, rich in color, form and texture. I do hope everyone who reads this will visit her gallery...you'll like it as much as I do, I'll bet! :w00t:

Traditional drawings by ~Jewelfly are endlessly fascinating, beautifully done. She says she just doodles, but it's way more than that, believe me. Hope you'll go visit her gallery, as it's full of really nice work and well worth seeing.

Wonderful photography! Nature, architecture, landscapes, sky...it's all in ~caro77's gallery. Please pay her a visit. :w00t:

See ~fabula-docet's collection of masks! These are so fascinating, they must be seen and studied closely. I love masks.

*LoriVintage55's gallery is like a trip back in time. She has lovingly restored some very old images and made them come back to life. She's done some very fanciful and fun photomanips, too. The thumb shown here is a beautiful example of using my image with a 1920s-style costume; it was a present for my birthday! You MUST see Lori's work to appreciate it!

*Rykk's gallery is full of amazing sci-fractals. You won't believe your eyes when you see the level of skill and artistry he uses, so please go have a look! (I'm totally blown away! :wow:)

`KevLewis has some of the finest bird photos I've ever seen anywhere. They are beautifully composed, nicely detailed, and as close to perfect as a photo can get. I hope everyone will look at his marvelous gallery. Be prepared to be stunned! :wow:

Talk about wild and beautiful fractal art! I've seen some amazing images in `1arcticfox's gallery. She's an accomplished artist in other disciplines, as well: photography and digital art to name a few. Her work is simply beautiful. I hope you'll get a chance to visit and see for yourself!

See some really special flower macros and other lovely nature photography in =scootergirl762's fine gallery. Her material is really beautiful, a joy to behold.

lovers of traditional art, rejoice! ~aladyx's gallery has absolutely lovely watercolors in it. Brighten your day by visiting!

~WalkerGermany's gallery is full of nature photos and "out-of-the-frame" pictures. I really like his work, and I'm betting you will too.
