Biography
| I've always loved art and nature photography, and now that I'm retired, I can devote more time, attention, energy, and passion to these pursuits. It's a bit difficult to specialize in these two distinct areas, but they are both equally important to me, and I can't give up either one. Photography can be full of surprises and very thrilling. It's fun to be out in nature, discovering new things during a shoot, and experiencing joy when my images turn out well. Digital art is a more cerebral passion, and is a wonderful change in routine when I'm not up for photography. My goal is to add beauty, joy, and fun to the world through my art. I hope people will come away from my gallery uplifted and satisfied. |

Photos selected for inclusion in AccuWeather's 2007 12-month calendar and the 2008 monthly calendar. Photo featured on NBC TV channel 4's weather program (Bob Ryan, meteorologist), 11/15/07. Won several awards for my photos at the 2008 Arlington, VA county fair: One Reserve Champion (best in class); two blue ribbons (first place); three red ribbons (second place); three white ribbons (third place); and one green ribbon (honorable mention). Won a Daily Deviation for my vector work, "Faeries in the Garden," on May 8, 2009.
